Privacy Policy
LeadAddict helps car dealers and real estate agents answer, qualify and book the people who contact them. Doing that well means handling personal information carefully. This page explains what we collect, why, who sees it, how long we keep it, and the choices you have.
1. Who we are
LeadAddict is operated by Nutrition Application Inc. from Edmonton, Alberta, Canada. We run the website leadaddict.ai, the LeadAddict web apps for dealers and agents (sales.leadaddictai.com and realtor.leadaddictai.com), the storefront websites we host on behalf of our dealers, and the LeadAddict app for iPhone. Questions about this policy go to support@leadaddict.ai.
2. Dealers and shoppers
Two groups of people appear in our systems.
- Dealers and agents (our customers) and the team members they invite. They hold accounts with us.
- Shoppers: people who contact a dealer through a storefront website, an ad, a text message, a phone call or a social media direct message.
Dealers decide why shopper information is collected and how their business uses it. LeadAddict processes that information to run the service for the dealer. When a shopper asks about their information, we work with the dealer to answer, and either can be contacted directly.
3. What we collect
From dealers and their teams
- Account details: name, email address, phone number, dealership or brokerage name and address, business hours, logo and branding.
- Sign-in details: a password (stored only as a salted hash), or your Google or Apple identifier. Google shares your name, email and profile photo; Apple shares your name and email, or a private relay email if you choose to hide it.
- Team roster: who you invite, their role and which leads they may see.
- Billing: your Stripe customer and subscription identifiers and plan status. Card numbers are entered on Stripe and never touch our servers.
- Devices: push notification tokens for the app, and basic device and app version information.
- Usage and support: how the product is used (for example which conversations are opened and replied to), service logs, and messages you send our support team.
About shoppers
- Contact details: name, phone number and, if given, email address, plus the vehicle or property they asked about.
- Conversations: text messages, web chat, Instagram, Facebook Messenger and TikTok direct messages exchanged with the dealership, including replies written by the assistant.
- Calls: the numbers involved, time, duration and outcome of calls to the dealership's tracked number, voicemail recordings and their transcripts.
- Finance pre-approval applications: the identity, employment, income and consent details a shopper chooses to enter on a dealer's storefront.
- Appointments: test drives and showings booked through the assistant.
- Photos a shopper or dealer shares in a conversation.
- Storefront activity: pages and vehicles viewed, searches, and taps on call or text buttons, together with the ad that brought the visitor (including Meta's click identifier) so dealers can see which ads work.
- Technical data: IP address, browser and device type, timestamps, and a first-party visitor identifier stored in the browser.
4. How we use it
- To run the service: receive inquiries, generate and send replies, route calls, take voicemail, book appointments and show dealers their pipeline.
- To create and manage the dealer's advertising and measure which ads produce inquiries.
- To bill dealers, provide support and send service notices.
- To keep the platform secure, prevent abuse and debug problems.
- To meet legal obligations.
We do not sell personal information, and we do not use shopper information to advertise anything other than the dealership the shopper contacted.
5. AI and automation
Replies to shoppers are drafted by an AI assistant powered by Anthropic's Claude models. The conversation, the dealership's inventory and business details are sent to Anthropic's API to produce each reply, under Anthropic's commercial terms; we do not use conversations to train models of our own. The assistant presents itself as the dealership's assistant, and a dealer can take over any conversation at any moment.
Advertising images are generated and retouched with OpenAI image models from the dealer's vehicle photos and listing details. No shopper information is used for this.
Voicemails left for a dealership are recorded and transcribed by Twilio so the dealer can read them in the conversation thread.
Instagram, Facebook Messenger and TikTok direct messages are read and answered on the dealer's own social accounts through a social messaging automation service operated for LeadAddict.
6. Texts, calls and consent
We send text messages on behalf of dealers only to people who have initiated contact with that dealership or given consent, for example by submitting a form on the dealer's storefront, texting or calling the dealership's number, or messaging its social accounts. Every message identifies the dealership. Reply STOP to any text to opt out; we honour opt-outs immediately and permanently for that dealership. Message frequency depends on the conversation. Standard message and data rates may apply.
Calls to a dealership's tracked number are forwarded to the dealership. The dealer hears a short announcement that the call comes through LeadAddict before being connected. Missed calls receive an automatic text back from the dealership.
LeadAddict follows Canada's Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL). Commercial electronic messages are sent with consent, identify the sender, and include a working way to unsubscribe.
7. Storefront tracking and ads
Dealer storefront websites use the Meta Pixel and Meta's Conversions API to measure and optimize the dealer's Facebook and Instagram advertising. Events such as page views, vehicle views, inquiries, applications and bookings are sent to Meta, along with hashed contact details where a shopper has provided them, so Meta can attribute results to the dealer's ads on the dealer's own ad account. Where a dealer also advertises on Google or X, the equivalent conversion tags may be present. Storefronts store a first-party visitor identifier in your browser.
The LeadAddict iPhone app itself contains no advertising or analytics trackers and does not use Apple's advertising identifier.
8. Who we share it with
We share information with service providers who help us run LeadAddict, each limited to what they need:
- Twilio: text messaging, phone calls, voicemail and transcription.
- Anthropic: AI-generated replies (conversation text and dealership context).
- OpenAI: advertising image generation (vehicle photos and listing details only).
- Meta Platforms: ads, measurement and messaging on the dealer's own Facebook and Instagram accounts.
- Stripe: subscription billing for dealers.
- Google and Apple: sign-in and push notifications.
- Amazon Web Services: storage of photos and files.
- Mailgun: transactional email to dealers.
- Vehicle data providers (for example the NHTSA VIN decoder and vehicle market data services): vehicle details only, no personal information.
- Our hosting providers and the social messaging automation service described above.
Dealers and the team members they authorize can see the shoppers, conversations and calls belonging to their dealership. We may also disclose information when the law requires it or to protect people from harm. If LeadAddict is ever acquired, information would transfer with the business under this policy.
9. Where it lives and security
Our application servers and databases run on hosting infrastructure in the United States, and photos are stored with Amazon Web Services. Information may therefore be stored and processed outside Canada and be subject to the laws of those jurisdictions.
We protect information with encrypted connections (TLS), salted password hashing, short-lived signed access tokens, role-based team permissions, rate limiting, input validation and audit logging. No system is perfectly secure, and we will notify affected dealers and regulators of a breach as the law requires.
10. Retention and deletion
- Account, lead and conversation data is kept for as long as the dealership's account is active so the dealer has a complete history.
- Short-lived records expire automatically: web chat sessions after 24 hours, message delivery logs after 48 hours, one-time verification codes after 5 minutes.
- We keep an account and its data for as long as the account exists. Nothing is deleted automatically. We delete it when the account holder asks us to. If a paid subscription is still running when we receive the request, we process the deletion when that subscription period ends, unless the account is deleted in the app, which takes effect immediately.
- Deleting an account: a dealer can delete their account in the iPhone app under Settings, or by emailing us from the account's email address. Deletion is immediate and permanent. For an owner it removes the dealership profile and all of its leads, conversations, listings, campaigns and team memberships; for a team member it removes only that member's access and login. Copies may persist in routine backups for a limited time before they are overwritten.
- Shoppers can text STOP to end messages at any time and can ask the dealership or us to delete the information held about them.
- Our service providers keep their own records under their own policies (for example Stripe's payment records and Twilio's message logs).
11. Your rights
Under Canada's Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and similar provincial laws, you can ask to access the personal information we hold about you, have it corrected, withdraw consent, or have it deleted. Email support@leadaddict.ai and we will respond within 30 days. You may also complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
12. Children
LeadAddict is a business service for buying and selling vehicles and property. It is not intended for anyone under 18, and we do not knowingly collect information from children under 13. If you believe a child has provided us information, contact us and we will delete it.
13. Changes
When this policy changes we will post the new version here with a new date. Material changes that affect dealers will also be announced by email.
